ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection A.3: Type C: safeguards for segregation of responsibilities

What does A.3 require?

A Type C body builds internal safeguards that keep inspection responsibilities and accountabilities adequately apart from its other work, and no single person both inspects an item and designs, makes, supplies, installs, services or maintains it, unless a regulation explicitly allows it and the exception does not compromise the results. Type C inspections cannot be classed as third party.
