The organisation maintains and retains documented information on its processes for determining and using the infrastructure that achieves conforming products and services, addressing the infrastructure to be maintained; the maintenance method, including frequency and monitoring, that keeps its integrity to performance requirements; the outcome of maintenance including applicable test methods and acceptance criteria; and the responsible personnel. Where the infrastructure delivers services, the record also covers its history of use, repair or redress, modification and remanufacture, and the inspections and tests that let it be verified directly for reuse, together with the critical spare parts the customer or the technical requirements call for, including the original equipment manufacturer's recommendations. Risk-based maintenance may be applied, drawing on preventive or predictive maintenance, reliability-centred methods, mean time between failures, failure mode and effects analyses, process control plans and other methods suited to the organisation's risks; ISO 14224 and ISO 20815 give sector guidance.
