Clause 11: Storage, warehousing and transport – ISO 22002-100:2025 Prerequisite programmes on food safety, Part 100: Requirements for the food, feed and packaging supply chain

ISO 22002-100:2025 Prerequisite programmes on food safety, Part 100: Requirements for the food, feed and packaging supply chain 11.1: Storage and warehousing

What does 11.1 require?

Materials and products are kept off the floor with space from the walls for inspection and pest control (exceptions such as bulk or crop materials documented), in clean, dry and well ventilated spaces shielded from dust, condensate, fumes, odours and other contamination. Temperature, humidity and other conditions are controlled where material, product or storage specifications call for it. Stacking avoids contamination and compression damage to the lower layers. Stock rotation such as first in first out or first expired first out applies where appropriate. Materials are kept apart from chemicals such as cleaning products, lubricants and pesticides. Nonconforming materials and products are set apart by a separate area or another means, an electronic system for instance, so they cannot be used by mistake.
