Measures against reasonably foreseeable misuse include customer education through manuals, courses and sales materials; HMI improvements that explain correct operation; driver monitoring and warning for distraction or hands-off; and measures that prevent misuse, such as ignoring commands that would cause hazardous behaviour and telling the driver why, degrading or disengaging a function for the rest of a journey after repeated warnings, or adding an activation speed limit to a parking function. The choice and effectiveness of driver monitoring depend on the target misuse.
