ISO 15489-1:2016 7.4: 7.4 Determining records requirements

Records requirements are the demands for proof of what the business did, worked out by studying the business and its setting. They arise from business needs, legal and regulatory requirements and community or societal expectations, may concern content, metadata, linkages or form, may apply to whole functions or specific processes, depend on context, and are linked to the particular functions, activities or work processes within the scope of the appraisal.
