Guidance: once improvement opportunities are found, the organization should assess them to decide on action, plan that action, and then make the resulting changes to the system. Improvements need not occur in all areas at once, and continual improvement becomes harder as performance improves. Examples include processes for evaluating less harmful materials, training to reduce waste, water reuse treatment, default double-sided printing, redesigned delivery routes, fuel substitution objectives, an improvement culture, partnerships with interested parties and sustainability in business processes.
