The organization sets up, runs and maintains the processes it needs to meet the four planning sub-clauses of 6.1 (this one and the three that follow it). In planning the environmental management system it considers the issues identified under 4.1, the requirements identified under 4.2 and the system's scope, and it identifies which risks and opportunities, arising from its environmental aspects, its compliance obligations and those other issues and requirements, must be dealt with so that the system can be relied on to deliver its intended outcomes, so that undesired effects are prevented or reduced (including the chance that outside environmental conditions will affect the organization), and so that continual improvement is achieved. Within the system's scope it also identifies potential emergencies, including any that could cause an environmental impact. It keeps documented information on the risks and opportunities to be dealt with and on the processes serving those four sub-clauses, in enough detail to be confident those processes run as planned.
This control maps to 12 controls across 9 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 12 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
