Project risk management addresses uncertainty across the whole project and calls for a structured approach, which a risk management plan sets out. The risk processes seek to reduce the effect of possible adverse events as far as possible and to make the most of chances to improve; uncertainty can relate both to the product and to the processes. The four processes are identifying risk (7.7.2), assessing risk (7.7.3), treating risk (7.7.4) and controlling risk (7.7.5).
