Where ICT offers any feature, function or content in one or more of the 22 Indian languages of the Eighth Schedule, users who choose those languages get the same accessibility support across perceivability, operability, understandability and robustness as the rest of the standard requires, in open and closed systems alike. This is delivered through Unicode (ISO/IEC 10646), font and display support (IS/ISO/IEC 14496-22), mobile text input (IS 16333-3), Enhanced INSCRIPT keyboard layouts (IS 16350, preferred on desktops and laptops) and the national character encoding standard, with internationalisation and localisation practices for input, output, storage, display, domain names and mail.
