Chapter 3 Organizing: responsibility and accountability, competence and training, documentation, communication (3.3 to 3.6) – ILO-OSH 2001 Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems

ILO-OSH 2001 Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems 3.5.3-3.5.5: Keep OSH records locally that are identifiable and traceable with specified retention times, including system records, injury and incident records, records required by law, exposure and health surveillance records and monitoring results, with workers entitled to access records on their environment and health subject to confidentiality

What does 3.5.3-3.5.5 require?

OSH records are set up, managed and held locally to suit the organisation's needs; each is identifiable and traceable and has a stated retention period. Workers have the right to see records about their working environment and their own health, with confidentiality respected. Records may include those generated by operating the system, those on work-related harm and incidents, those required by national OSH law, those on workers' exposures and on surveillance of the working environment and of workers' health, and the results of active and reactive monitoring.
