ILO Nursing Personnel Convention C149 (1977) R157 Para 17: Fair disciplinary rules with representation and appeal

What does R157 Para 17 require?

Disciplinary rules for nursing personnel should be set with the participation of their representatives and guarantee a fair hearing and adequate appeal, including representation by a person of their choice at every stage. The Annex asks that the rules define professional misconduct with regard to professional ethics, set sanctions proportional to the fault, and fit within the rules for health personnel as a whole.
