Any agent, officer or employee of a private investigative agency, non-governmental corporation or common carrier by wire, or any individual, who discovers physical evidence of an eavesdropping device being used, and does not know it to be a lawful device, must within a reasonable time disclose it to the State's Attorney of the county where it was found; the State's Attorney then tells the apparent targets if the device is illegal. Breach is a business offence with a fine of up to 500 dollars. For an employer this covers devices found during facilities or security sweeps.
