Audio or video recording inside a school bus transporting students to and from school and school activities is exempt only where the school board has adopted a policy authorizing it, the policy is included in student handbooks and other school policy documents, parents are notified of it, and notice of recording is clearly posted on the door of and inside the bus. The recordings are confidential and may be used only by school officials or designees and law enforcement for investigations, school discipline, Juvenile Court Act proceedings and prosecutions about incidents on or around the bus.
