Insurance revenue shows the services the entity provides under groups of contracts issued, at the amount of consideration it expects to be entitled to, measured under B120 to B127. Insurance service expenses cover claims incurred (but not repayments of investment components), other insurance service expenses incurred, and the amounts in 103(b). Investment components are left out of both, and premium figures that do not fit the revenue principle may not be shown in profit or loss. Income or expenses from reinsurance held, other than finance income or expenses, may be shown as one net figure or as amounts recovered from the reinsurer plus an allocation of premiums paid. In the second case, reinsurance cash flows that depend on claims are treated as part of expected recoveries, those that do not (such as some ceding commissions) as a reduction of premiums, loss-recovery amounts as recoveries, and the premium allocation is never shown as a reduction of revenue.
