Measurement takes in every expected cash flow falling within the boundaries of the group's contracts. The estimates use, without bias, all reasonable and supportable information on amount, timing and uncertainty that can be obtained without undue cost or effort, expressed as the probability-weighted average across the whole range of possible outcomes; they reflect the entity's own view but keep market variables in line with observable market prices; they are up to date at the measurement date; and they are explicit, with the risk adjustment estimated on its own and the cash flows kept apart from the adjustment for time value and financial risk, unless the best technique combines them. A cash flow is inside the boundary if it stems from substantive rights and obligations during the period in which the entity can require the policyholder to pay premiums or is substantively bound to provide services. That obligation ends once the entity can in practice reassess the risks of that particular policyholder and set a price that fully reflects them, or can reassess the risks of the portfolio and fully reprice it, where pricing up to the reassessment date takes no account of later periods. Expected premiums or claims beyond the boundary give rise to no asset or liability.
