Clause 7: Preparation phase – IEEE 2089-2021 Age Appropriate Digital Services Framework

IEEE 2089-2021 Age Appropriate Digital Services Framework 7.3a.1-2: Organize the team and plan stakeholder engagement including children and parents

What does 7.3a.1-2 require?

The project shall begin an initial exploration of how its product or service affects children by organizing the team, appointing role holders and verifying that they act in good faith, and by planning the engagement of key stakeholders in the impact exploration and identifying who they are. That engagement includes forming a representative stakeholder panel, or independent advocates for stakeholders, with expertise enough to represent every party; creating mechanisms by which children of diverse backgrounds can be consulted, directly or with help from a third party (on the panel, or through interviews, focus groups, surveys, formal participatory or co-design processes and the like), and creating equivalent mechanisms for a diverse range of parents.
