Inside the equipment, heating elements and heating-lamp lampholders are marked with their maximum power loading near or on the heater, or by reference to the documents where only service personnel change them with a tool; high-voltage parts are marked with the high-voltage symbol or safety sign; battery type and insertion mode are marked, by reference to the documents where service personnel change them, with an extra warning where fitting the wrong lithium battery or fuel cell could cause excessive temperature, fire or explosion; over-current releases, thermal cut-outs and fuses that can be reached only with a tool are identified by full rating (voltage, current, speed, size, breaking capacity) or by reference to the documents; protective earth terminals carry the protective earth symbol unless in an IEC 60320-1 appliance inlet, and functional earth terminals the functional earth symbol; supply terminals are marked adjacent to the terminals unless interchange carries no unacceptable risk, neutral terminals of permanently installed equipment and three-phase connections by the appropriate code, and markings at earth and connection points are never on parts removed to make the connection and stay visible afterwards; and where any point in a permanently installed equipment's terminal box exceeds 75 degrees in normal use at the maximum ambient, a legible statement at the connection point calls for wiring rated above the measured temperature. Compliance is checked by inspection together with the 7.1 tests.
