ICH Q7 - Good Manufacturing Practice Guide for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients 4.7: Keep buildings maintained, repaired and clean under written sanitation procedures, including controlled use of pest control agents and cleaning chemicals

What does 4.7 require?

Buildings used for intermediates and APIs should be kept in good repair and clean. Written procedures should assign responsibility for sanitation and describe cleaning schedules, methods, equipment and materials. Where needed, written procedures should also govern the use of rodenticides, insecticides, fungicides, fumigants and cleaning and sanitising agents so that equipment, raw materials, packaging and labelling materials, intermediates and APIs are not contaminated.
