Over every three-year period each manufacturing process is audited for effectiveness and efficiency, using the approach the customer requires or, absent one, the organization's own. Within each audit plan, every manufacturing process is audited on each shift on which it runs, including suitable sampling of the handover between shifts. The audit checks that the process risk analysis, the control plan and the related documents are actually being applied.
