IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Standards Manual FLT 3.6: Route and Airport Planning

What does FLT 3.6 require?

Guidance lets the flight crew judge whether the airports it intends to use satisfy the operational requirements (performance, runway characteristics, ATC, lighting, navigation aids, rescue and firefighting), determine operating minima, and determine RVR requirements including when RVR reporting must be available; the Operator should not authorise approach and landing below 800 metres visibility or 800 RVR converted meteorological visibility without RVR reporting (FLT 3.6.2 to 3.6.5).
