IACS Recommendation No. 194 - Cybersecurity Controls for Existing Ships C6: Control 6: Remote access control (UR E26 4.2.6)

Recommended practice for remote access to shipboard systems: multifactor authentication of the shore user, a limit on failed logins, connections explicitly accepted by responsible crew and managed by shore staff, sessions ended manually on board or automatically after inactivity, strong encryption for confidentiality, integrity and authenticity, and a log of remote sessions.
