Public bodies of the Federation must give the Federal Commissioner and staff access at any time to all official premises, data processing equipment and means, all personal data and all information needed for their tasks, and must supply the information required. Private bodies under the Federal Commissioner's supervision (such as providers of telecommunications services) must allow access only during usual business hours. Section 85(2) allows the Ministry of Defence to exclude access in individual cases outside the scope of EU law where security of the Federation requires.
