INSPECTION POWERS: AFA inspectors may visit company premises + request documents + interview personnel + inspect IT systems + audit programs + observe operations; inspections typically last 6-12 MONTHS + result in an INSPECTION REPORT with findings + recommendations + potential sanctions. ADMINISTRATIVE SANCTIONS (Art. 17 V): for compliance program inadequacy: WARNING + INJUNCTION to remediate within deadlines + ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTIES up to EUR 200,000 for individuals + EUR 1 MILLION for legal entities; INDIVIDUAL SANCTIONS for chief executive personal failure. JUDICIAL SANCTIONS (separate): up to EUR 5 MILLION + 10 years imprisonment for serious corruption offences + 5 years + EUR 500,000 for influence peddling + 10 years + EUR 1 MILLION for foreign-official bribery.
