FedRAMP Rev 5 G.5: G.5 Marketplace designations, contract conditions, prioritization and temporary authorizations

The Marketplace displays offerings in process or authorized and the Board may create additional designations short of full authorization to encourage adoption and security by design; agencies may require a FedRAMP authorization as a condition of contract award only where enough vendors allow effective competition or a competition exception applies, discussed with the acquisition team and legal counsel; GSA with the Board and the CIO Council sets criteria prioritizing services by agency demand and by critical or emerging technologies otherwise unavailable; and FedRAMP provides procedures for a time-specific temporary authorization letting agencies pilot a service without a full authorization for a period not exceeding twelve months, after which it terminates unless the provider is in progress for a full authorization.
