For every Category A and Category B Project the EPFI requires the client to build or keep an ESMS (its environmental and social management system). The client also draws up an ESMP (management plan) that responds to issues raised in the Assessment and includes the actions needed to meet the applicable standards. If the EPFI is not satisfied that those standards are met, the client and the EPFI agree an Equator Principles Action Plan (EPAP) setting out the gaps and the commitments to close them against the EPFI's requirements.
