DO-254 / ED-80 - Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware 10.3.2.2: 10.3.2.2 Detailed design data

Detailed design data holds what is needed to implement the item consistently with its requirements, by level: top-level drawing, assembly drawings, interconnection and parts data, HDL description, reliability and test methodology data, unused functions and the actions ensuring they cannot compromise safety, installation control data, and data on the hardware/software interface. The top-level drawing gives unique identification of the item and of all its assemblies, subassemblies, components and defining documents (10.3.2.2.1); assembly drawings give location, orientation, assembly sequence and marking (10.3.2.2.2); installation control drawings give dimensions, clearances, cooling and mounting, weight and centre of gravity (10.3.2.2.3); hardware/software interface data gives memory addresses, loadable address fields, timing and sequence and other interface information where hardware performance depends on software configuration, calibration or interaction (10.3.2.2.4). Content beyond regulatory needs is proposed in the PHAC.
