Because an impact on one node can cascade across systems, participants identify for each prioritised asset its primary and secondary sources or providers of the resources it needs (for example who distributes its electricity and where the feeds are), the backup sources that sustain it during disruption (on-site generators, water storage), and the downstream assets and essential services affected if it is disrupted, using the dependency worksheets, discussion and interview guides, and allowing for providers who hesitate to share dependency information in a group setting.
