Step 2: Identify critical infrastructure – CISA Infrastructure Resilience Planning Framework (IRPF) March 2025

CISA Infrastructure Resilience Planning Framework (IRPF) March 2025 2.1: Identify the infrastructure critical to the community, including cyber infrastructure

What does 2.1 require?

The community identifies the infrastructure systems and assets critical to its regular functioning, safety, health and economic vitality, covering the energy, water, wastewater, communications and transportation systems and the facilities behind social functions such as health, education, government and community services, plus planned future infrastructure, infrastructure outside the area that serves it, and assets inside the area that matter regionally or nationally; it builds a database or matrix of these assets, enters them into geospatial platforms, and explicitly captures the cyber infrastructure (computer and control systems, networks, cyber services, data storage and processing, hardware, software and data) on which operations depend, noting age, origin, upkeep and the location of remote service providers.
