CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) 7.79: Questions 7.79 and 7.79.1: Project-based carbon credits retired

What does 7.79 require?

The organisation states whether it retired any carbon credits from projects during the reporting year and details them: project type, whether emissions reduction or carbon removal, project description, credits retired in tCO2e, purpose (voluntary, meeting a carbon pricing system, or other), vintage, whether issued to or purchased by the organisation, the carbon-crediting programme, how the programme assesses additionality, how it requires reversal risk to be addressed, the potential leakage sources it requires to be assessed, and other issues it requires projects to address. CDP's ambition is that organisations prioritise value chain reductions and use only high-quality credits to neutralise residual emissions that cannot be eliminated.
