When staff or systems need to reach information assets from outside the network the entity controls, the Article 19 access requirements still apply and three further conditions are added: authentication uses at least two factors; only strongly protected channels such as a virtual private network carry the traffic; and File Transfer Protocol and Remote Desktop Connection are not used for the remote path.
