BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 4.9.4.2: Container breakage on the line managed by documented instructions: disposal, cleaning without dispersal, dedicated equipment, authorisation

What does 4.9.4.2 require?

Systems must control container breakages that happen between the cleaning or inspection point and closure. Written instructions must make sure that any product near the breakage that could be affected is removed and disposed of; that the line is cleaned effectively without scattering fragments (no high-pressure water or air); that dedicated, identifiable cleaning equipment is used; that the line is inspected and authorised before it restarts; and that the incident is recorded.
