BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 4.10.3.4: Metal detector tests with marked ferrous, stainless and non-ferrous test pieces at line speed, proving rejection and failsafes

What does 4.10.3.4 require?

Metal detector testing must use test pieces containing a metal sphere of known, risk-based diameter, marked with size and type, separate pieces for ferrous, stainless steel and non-ferrous metal unless a foil container justifies ferrous only, tests proving detection and rejection under normal conditions, successive test packs at typical line speed and checks of failsafe systems.
