BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 4.10.3.1: Metal detection in place unless risk assessment shows a more effective alternative

What does 4.10.3.1 require?

Metal detection equipment must be in place unless a risk assessment shows it does not improve food safety, with the justification documented; absence would normally rest on a more effective alternative such as X-ray, fine sieves or filtration.
