Chapter 3 Parts 3-4 and 3-5: Information standards and manufacturer liability – Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Schedule 2)

Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Schedule 2) s136-137: ss 136, 137 and 137AA Supply goods and services only in compliance with applicable information standards

Where an information standard for goods or services of a kind is in force, a business must not supply or offer to supply them without complying with it, and must not manufacture, possess or control non-compliant goods for supply (s 136, s 137); goods intended for use outside Australia and labelled for export only are excluded. Provisions a standard designates under s 137AA are enforced separately rather than as a supply ban. Loss caused by missing required information is attributed to the supply.
