The practice tells patients, before or at the time of the consultation, what fees apply to the care it provides and what Medicare or other rebates cover, and displays or supplies its fee schedule. When referring a patient for pathology, imaging, specialist care or other services, the practice lets the patient know that those services may charge their own fees, which the patient should check with the provider.
