Australia Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) 86: Subsidiaries of corporate Commonwealth entities: ensure, as far as practicable, that no subsidiary does anything the entity itself does not have power to do

What does 86 require?

A corporate Commonwealth entity's accountable authority must do what it practicably can to keep every subsidiary within the limits of the entity's own powers: a subsidiary may not be used to do what the parent could not do under its enabling legislation and the finance law.
