Every poison must be supplied in an immediate container that satisfies Division 3. For poisons other than Schedule 5 in containers up to 2 L, the container has to meet Australian Standard AS 2216-1997 Packaging for poisonous substances (Schedule 6 essential oils may use amber glass without the tactile marks if they have a restricted flow insert and child-resistant closure and safety is not reduced). Containers over 2 L must meet the general requirements of subsection 1.4 of that standard and show the word POISON embossed or indelibly written in contrasting colour on the side or shoulder, in sans serif capitals at least one thirty-second of the greatest container dimension.
