Where a proposed GM micro-organism dealing will generate aerosols carrying Risk Group 2 GM micro-organisms, that work must be done inside a biological safety cabinet or other aerosol containment equipment the Regulator has specifically approved in writing. The note says centrifuging or vortexing GM micro-organisms in sealed tubes need not be done in a cabinet, as long as the tubes are opened only inside one. This sits under the Part C heading for dealings with GM micro-organisms: where any proposed dealing involves them, behavioural training has to cover it on top of the other requirements.
