An existing backflow assessment must be reviewed when (a) any new cross-connection, or a device or system able to contaminate a water supply, is linked to the facility's water service at any point, directly or indirectly; or (b) connections made before certification were judged not to need backflow prevention but a new GMO, whose risks differ from those of the GMOs assessed at certification, is about to be dealt with there. This sits under the Part B heading for dealings with GM micro-organisms, so it applies in addition to the other conditions when any dealing in the facility involves them.
