Before any structural changes that will affect containment of GMOs, the applicant (the certification holder) must ask the Regulator in writing either to suspend the certification or to vary the certified area so dealings can carry on in a part the work does not touch (for example by temporarily partitioning the facility, then applying again to restore the area once the work is done).
