GM invertebrates, invertebrates carrying GMOs and any GMO-containing waste have to be decontaminated before disposal, unless the disposal method itself decontaminates them. The guideline notes that, where appropriate, looking at the containers may confirm whether decontamination is needed, for example with GMOs large enough to see.
