Where planned procedures with GM micro-organisms would give off aerosols carrying Risk Group 2 GMOs, a biological safety cabinet must be present in the facility, or some other aerosol containment equipment the Regulator has specifically approved in writing. A Class I or Class II cabinet has to be installed to the requirements of AS 2252.4.
