Australia OGTR Guidelines for Certification of a PC2 Aquatic Facility (Version 3.1) A10: Hand decontamination

What does A10 require?

Where planned dealings will involve GM micro-organisms, or hands will touch GMOs that could persist on them, the facility needs either its own wash basin with taps that work without being touched by hand, or another way to decontaminate hands. The guideline explains that hand decontamination helps prevent accidental release and protects staff health, that a basin with hand-operated taps is not acceptable because the taps can spread contamination, and that hands-free dispensers of decontaminant solution are a suitable alternative.
