Australia NDIS Quality Support for Children Guidance 2024 Q-1: Hold the checks, registrations and insurance required to work with children

Providers and their workers who care for or work with children hold a valid Working with Children Check for the state or territory they work in; workers of registered NDIS providers in roles that need it hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance (any provider or worker may apply); clinicians hold the professional registration their profession requires (psychologists and physiotherapists with Ahpra, speech pathologists as certified practising members of Speech Pathology Australia, music therapists with the Australian Music Therapy Association, early childhood teachers with the state body where applicable); and no service is provided without professional liability insurance or outside work health and safety laws. Visitors to the service are checked before working with or around children.
