Australia NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators m1-8: Module 1 cl 8 Subcutaneous injections

Applies to a provider registered for high intensity daily personal activities whose certificate of registration lists this support (and s 13C of the Rules bars providing a Schedule 2 support not listed). Each participant needing it receives appropriate subcutaneous injections, with documented written or phone orders from the prescribing practitioner and workers who understand the related condition, proportionate to their needs. Indicators: the participant is involved in assessing and developing their plan; with consent their health is reviewed regularly by an appropriately qualified health practitioner; the plan sets out how risks, incidents and emergencies are managed and escalated; policies, procedures and a worker training plan exist; every worker supporting the participant is trained for that participant's specific needs against the high intensity support skills descriptor by a qualified health practitioner or a person meeting the descriptor.
