The provider supports each participant to make informed choices, exercise control and maximise independence. Indicators: active decision-making supported with timely accessible information; the dignity of risk respected, with support to weigh benefits and risks; autonomy respected, including intimacy and sexual expression; enough time to consider options and seek advice at every stage from assessment to exit; the right to an advocate, including an independent advocate, of their choosing and to have them present.
