Operational control of the service rests with a designated person chosen by the governing body: an Australian-resident doctor holding Ahpra registration, with real authority and a scope of practice fit for the job. That person owns eleven things: putting the clinical governance framework into effect; keeping the delegation framework for supervision current and handing out supervision under it; keeping the risk framework current; watching how the safety and quality systems are used; overseeing how well the workforce performs; making sure staff have the skill and experience to run the tests; deciding which tests are offered and by which methods and procedures; checking that throughput is high enough for people to stay competent; judging which referral laboratories are acceptable; and owning the policies for spotting and phoning through critical results.
This control maps to 2 controls across 2 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 2 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
