Australia National Credit Code (Schedule 1 to the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009) s107: Recover only enforcement expenses reasonably incurred

A credit provider must not recover or seek to recover from a debtor, mortgagor or guarantor enforcement expenses beyond those reasonably incurred, which may include the reasonable cost of its own staff and facilities. Any contractual provision purporting to allow more is void and excess recovered may be reclaimed, and the court can determine a disputed amount on application by any party.
