Australia Model Code of Practice: Work Health and Safety Consultation, Cooperation and Coordination
Section 5: When to consult, cooperate and coordinate with other duty holders – Australia Model Code of Practice: Work Health and Safety Consultation, Cooperation and Coordination

Australia Model Code of Practice: Work Health and Safety Consultation, Cooperation and Coordination 5.2: 5.2 Start consulting when you know others are involved and continue throughout the work

Consultation, cooperation and coordination should start as soon as it is known others are or will be involved, usually from the circumstances, contract arrangements, presence on site or the need for others to be involved, and may be during contract negotiation or when engaged or engaging others. The PCBU may not be the first involved or may be approached by another duty holder. It should start during planning so measures are identified from the outset, with more consultation when circumstances change, particularly in construction and other long projects, and cooperation and coordination continue throughout the time the same work and duty are shared.
