Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals
Chapter 2: preparing, reviewing and amending an SDS – Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals

Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals 2.4: Review each SDS at least every five years, amend it whenever new hazard information or a formulation change arises, and keep it available after the product is withdrawn

What does 2.4 require?

A review by the manufacturer or importer is required at least every five years, counted from when it was prepared or last revised, and must amend it whenever needed to keep it correct and current, for instance when new information on the chemical becomes known or the formulation changes. No review is needed if the chemical has not been made or imported in the last five years. The SDS should remain available after the chemical is withdrawn from sale because workplaces may still need it. A translation may be attached if it says it is separate from the original.
